Meet the founders

Portrait of Eva-Maria

Eva-Maria

Co-founder · Main contact for students from China

Eva-Maria studied History and Theology at Heidelberg University, one of Germany’s oldest and most prestigious universities, and also pursued studies in Diplomacy at National Chengchi University. She gained academic experience through teaching and university work, received four scholarships during her studies, has published academic papers, and is currently pursuing her PhD. In addition to her academic background, she has also worked outside the university environment, giving her a broader understanding of both academic and professional pathways in Germany.

Through several stays in Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, and through her fluent Chinese, she brings strong cultural and linguistic understanding to her work with Chinese students. She has already supported Chinese applicants, especially in more advanced academic pathways, and is Studydoor’s main contact for students from China.

Portrait of Juan de Dios

Juan de Dios

Co-founder · Main contact for students from Latin America

Juan de Dios moved from Bolivia to Germany at the age of 19 to pursue his studies. He studied Political Science, Anthropology, and Business Administration in Frankfurt and Darmstadt, completing both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Germany. During his studies, he was awarded three scholarships for academic achievement and also worked at university, where he helped first semester students find their way through academic life and the structures of higher education.

Having gone through the process himself, he knows first hand what it means to arrive in Germany from Latin America and navigate bureaucracy, university applications, scholarships, internships, and professional opportunities as an international student. He has already supported a number of Latin American students on this path and is Studydoor’s main contact for students from Latin America.
